    Notifications display fades too fast

    Postby Enrico » Fri Jul 10, 2009 10:59 am

It's not a bug. I noticed however that the notification box in the upper right corner fades too fast and I was unable to read the contents (apart the fact that on first start I had 9 somethin not spatially somethin...) [Tabbles RC3]

Addendum - On subsequent starts the display time seems longer... maybe it's just me.

Thank you Enrico. It seems we have to increase the duration of all messages.

Would you prefer if the notification box did not fade out automatically at all, but required you to click it to hide it?

    Some background info:

Spatial mode requires you to spatially place all tabbles manually. That is the whole purpose of spatial mode: to allow you to place each tabble exactly where you want to, so that you can find it more easily because you remember its position. So the fact that Tabbles asks you to place some tabbles is normal.

The exception to this rule are tabbles which are shipped in the default installation of tabbles: these tabbles are already placed. But this is not possible for disks, because they are created on-the-fly by tabbles depending on your hardware. So they cannot be placed automatically. So they behave like any other tabble that you create, i.e. you have to place them by hand. That is indeed how spatial mode works.

Could you tell me if what i have just said is new to you, or did you already know it?
