The tabbles are smarter folders.
Tabbles bridges the gap between a file manager and document management system. It's powerful as a DMS and easy as a file manager.

What is a Tabble?
A tabble is a tag-bubble
The word tabble stands for "tag-bubble", sometimes they behave like a tag, some other times like a container. With Tabbles you can categorize your files, folders or internet addresses by cross-linking them to one or more tabbles.Since Tabbles is a deskop application, it's well integrated into the Microsoft Windows environment: categorization can be done using the usual explorer functions, such as copy-and-paste, drag-and-drop (keyboard shortcuts and right-button menu included) or using the buttons on the tabble's. The categories are groups of tabbles sharing color and shape.

Auto-tagging and One-click tagging
|
 |
Tabbles can tag your files based on your folder structures, and let you tag a file that you just saved, not matter where it is.
These set of features appears in the 1.3.0 release. The idea behind those features is to minimize the workload required for a user to tag files (One-click tag) or to automatize it based on where the file is or on other user-defined rules (Auto-tagging rules).Find out more on our blog.

The Combine function:
|
 |
Find your files by thinking of them
The Combine function will show you all the files linked to the each one of the tabbles you are combining. This means that each Combination will show you all the files, folders and URLs grouped by the concepts they are related to and not by their location on the hard drive. A Combine can be explained as a logical AND operation: the innovation introduced by Tabbles is the way this operation is performed.

Horizontal browsing:
-
Navigate through files based on their relation
-
Horizontal browsing represents a groundbreaking improvement in the file-browsing: it allows you to navigate throughout your files and folders based on the tabbles they are linked to. This will allow you to search, browse and sort files which are located far away from each other, but are a cross-linked to same tabbles. Horizontal browsing is tightly linked to the Combine concept: it consists of dynamically modifying combinations of tabbles.

Collaborate:
-
Check in/out of files and tabbles
-
The Collaborate functions are a major time saver when sending or receiving files. The Export function allows you to export the files connected to one tabbles or to a combination and zip them. This alone, would provide a great help when you need to send files over to coworker, a partner or a customer. The best feature is that Tabbles will not only zip the files you need to send, but will also include all the information regarding the categorization of those files: the recipient of the zip file you exported can import it into his own Tabbles' database. The recipient will then be able to see the files you exported along with the tabbles they’re connected to: this will deliver a great help for the recipient to understand "what-is-what" and will save you the time to explain him what he's dealing with.
The files that you originally exported, can in turn be re-exported to you after they've been modified: your copy of Tabbles will recognize the files and the tabbles, import them and place them next to the old files, tagging them according to the user who exported them for you. In case the person you’re sending to does not own a copy of Tabbles (a free viewer will soon be available on the Tabbles website in the download section) he can still extract the zip file and use the files normally: you won’t be able to fully benefit from the Export/Import function, but you will still have saved the time to handpick the files prior to sending them. The availability of these features depends on the selected license.
